Entrust was formed in 1991 by two practitioners with national firm experience that wanted to provide the same level of service to their clients through a local and independent firm. We continue with that philosophy today.
Entrust is proud to service privately held companies and their shareholders in the lower mainland, Fort St. John, and surrounding areas.
Our team of professionals bring years of experience in accounting and assurance, tax compliance and planning, and consulting and advisory services. We have the knowledge, experience, and understanding necessary to add value to your company.
Scott has spent his thirty year career working exclusively with privately held companies and their shareholders in the lower mainland, Fort St. John, and surrounding areas. Scott practices in the areas of accounting and assurance, tax compliance and planning, corporate structuring, general consulting and advisory, and matrimonial disputes. Scott brings the knowledge, experience and understanding from these thirty years to all his client engagements.
In his role as an advisor, Scott has assisted many clients with business and corporate acquisitions, including due diligence on the target companies and advising on the optimum deal structure for income tax and cash flow purposes. Similarly, he has assisted many clients with the disposition of their businesses, including succession planning and valuations. Scott has also advised clients on shareholder agreements and shareholder disputes.
Scott has consulted with his clients on a wide variety of business issues including management information systems reviews; major software conversions; financial forecasting, cash flow planning and banking arrangements; employee benefit plans; project effectiveness; and matrimonial disputes.
Working closely with his clients has allowed Scott to identify opportunities to restructure their holdings to take advantage of asset protection strategies, income splitting opportunities, estate planning, and increased access to the Small Business Deduction.
Scott has also consulted to and worked with over two hundred and fifty home-based entrepreneurs to help them start their businesses. Many of these companies have grown into large, successful companies, with some being the target of acquisition or public offerings.
Scott received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia in 1993, followed by his C.A. designation in 1998. He joined Entrust in 1994, became a partner in 2000, and has led the firm as president since 2011.
Katherine Liu, CPA, CA is a highly skilled accounting professional with extensive experience in accounting, tax, and business advisory services. With over 20 years of experience in the professional services sector, particularly in the healthcare industry, she excels at using a holistic approach to help clients achieve their financial goals. Her commitment to personalized service shines through as she focuses on building strong relationships to truly understand and support each client’s unique needs and objectives.
Katherine graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University and shortly after she obtained her CPA designation (CPA, CA) and completed the CPA In-Depth Tax Program.
Outside her professional achievements, Katherine is actively engaged in her community and has made significant impacts as a board and executive member for several healthcare foundations. Her extensive knowledge and genuine commitment to community service enhance her role as a trusted advisor and underscores her dedication to both her clients and the broader community.
